CYT Indy is a licensed affiliate of CYT, Inc, the largest youth theater program in the nation, with programs across the country. To learn more about CYT nationally visit www.cyt.org.

CYT was founded in 1981 in San Diego, California by Paul and Sheryl Russell who also founded Christian Community Theater (CCT) for actors of all ages. Since 1981, CYT has grown to be the nation’s largest children’s theater organization with programs in thirteen states. Every session more than 12,000 kids participate in classes and over 100,000 community members attend their performances. Because CYT does not own facilities, the organization rents space in the local community, utilizing classrooms and stages in churches, schools, and local theaters. CYT is not affiliated with a particular church body, and people of all faiths are welcome. CYT stands in the forefront in its commitment to the highest ethical, moral, technical and artistic standards of excellence. Instructors are professionals, qualified in teaching and/or performing, who must understand our mission statement, values, objectives and goals. All CYT staff strive to be excellent role models.

The safety of CYT Indy students, staff, and community is our highest priority, and we have
several protocols in place to ensure this safety. Our staff and contractors are instructed to
report every incident/suspicion, no matter how minor it may be. CYT Indy is constantly
exploring, evaluating and strengthening our protocols, and we will continue to work tirelessly to
protect our students and families against sexual harassment and discrimination of any kind.

CYT Indy was founded in 2009 by the following families:
John & Tricia Welsch
Jay & Karen Boughner
James & Peggy Davis
Denise Klima
Matthew & Carin Hines
Bill & Cindy Hannah

Current Staff Members:

Laura Baltz

Laura LOVES working for CYT. Seeing those kids pointing up at God at the end of each show grabs her heart every time. Laura's position includes handling Marketing and PR, Fundraising and Financials for the theater. In her spare time, Laura loves spending time with her family and also loves jumping on stage herself! Favorite roles include Penny in "You Can't Take it With You," Ruth in "Calendar Girls," and Miss Hannigan in "Annie." She also directs, for CYT and other local theaters.

Julie Dunlap

Julie joined CYT as Managing Director in October 2018, and keeps busy handling the business-side of CYT Indy. When she's not managing CYT's finances, Julie's busy crafting unique items which she sells at area craft shows and her Etsy store. She loves working at CYT, especially behind the scenes and never on stage!

Lynn Vogt

Lynn is our amazing Production Coordinator. She handles our warehouse items and rentals, props, sets, hair and makeup, and a bunch of other stuff we don't have room to list here. Lynn is a mom who's ALWAYS active--she helps with her daughter's high school performances at Lapel High School in her "spare" time. This is the photo she sent us to post on the website. Lynn may or may not really look like this.
